On Sunday, December 2, during Divine Liturgy at St. Illuminator's Armenian Apostolic Cathedral, by encyclical of His Holiness Catholicos Aram I of the Great House of Cilicia, our Prelate, Bishop Anoushavan Tanielian was officially granted the title "Archbishop," a mark of prestige and seniority, granted for years of faithful service to our Lord and the Armenian Apostolic Church. The Divine Liturgy was celebrated by Archbishop Anoushavan at the cathedral, during which Very Rev. Fr. Sahag Yemishian, pastor of Holy Trinity Armenian Apostolic Church of Worcester and Secretary of the Prelacy's religious council, read the Caholicosal encyclical for all the faithful to hear. Following the service at the Cathedral, a celebratory banquet was held at Terrace-on-the-Park banquet facility in Queens, organized by the Prelacy's executive council in honor of Archbishop Anoushavan's election in September.
