Appeal from the Board during COVID-19
Dear Parishioners & Friends,
It is with heartfelt sincerity that we are contacting you amidst the current Covid-19 Virus pandemic. As a church, our primary mission is the spiritual and physical well-being of our faithful. We pray that you and your family are healthy and safe during this challenging time for all of us.
We at Saint Gregory Armenian Apostolic Church find ourselves in a difficult situation. As you know, for the past week and for several weeks to come, acting on directives from state and local officials, as well as those of the Prelacy, we have had no choice but to nearly entirely exclude physically our faithful parishioners from the worship life of the community. One can only imagine that with the absence of our people comes an absence of the generous donations and monetary gifts that are vital to our mission as a church and our ability to cover our everyday operating costs.
We appeal to you for your help to maintain the financial stability of our church during this time when there is no regular weekly income stream as well as the uncertainty of whether or not our annual income producing events will be held.
We hope that we can count on all of our members to pledge a monthly amount to make up for this lost revenue and be able to cover the expenses of our church without interruption.
Analyzing the fixed costs of our monthly operation as well as the contributions of our faithful dues paying members and supporters, we have estimated that if each individual member can commit to $140.00 per month or $35.00 per week, these monthly expenses will be covered. We are sensitive to each family’s individual financial needs and we understand that this may not be possible for each and every member, but nonetheless we urge you to consider an ongoing financial commitment – at least until the uncertainty of the pandemic has passed and we are able to gather together again as usual – for the future of our church. Our church is spiritual home to all of us, and her care and wellbeing therefore are the responsibility of us all.
Please prayerfully consider making a financial commitment to help Saint Gregory Church today. We are providing you with this link to set up a recurring pledge or you can mail in a check.
Until the church has again opened its doors to all, please continue to participate online and watch broadcasts via Website, Facebook, and YouTube. As always, Der Hayr remains available for any pastoral needs or just to keep in touch. You can reach him at 857-204-5139 or [email protected].
We thank you for your continued support and we look forward to seeing everyone again soon. This is our church; let's keep the future bright for generations to come!
Wishing you and your family God’s blessings,
Rev. Fr. Stephan Baljian, Gregory Afarian, Chair
Pastor Board of Trustees
I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have peace. In this world you will have tribulation. But take heart! I have overcome the world. Gospel of John 16:33
