Building CommitteeMarch 2, 2020
Dear Parishioners and Supporters: We are thrilled to report that our new steeple was installed on February 17, 2020 and its cross will be erected and consecrated on Saturday, April 4, 2020, by His Eminence Archbishop Anoushavan Tanielian, Prelate. All are encouraged and welcome to attend this wonderful occasion for the St. Gregory community. Further details of this historic event will be coming soon. Knowing that our church needed significant renovation and repair, parishioners began discussing various options and planning over 25 years ago. Beginning with the rebuild of Jaffarian Hall in 2006-2007, our community continued its mission to completely renovate and repair the entire church building and its infrastructure. During this time, our parishioners were guided with the spiritual leadership of five different pastors and remained committed to each other to complete this huge undertaking. Although this project was difficult at times in various ways, our parishioners and supporters remained steadfast in their faith and support, knowing that the structural integrity and future of our church was at stake. Our community was constantly reminded by, and found strength in, Proverbs 3:5-6: Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not unto your own understanding; in all thy ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct thy paths. On behalf of the Building Committee, we thank all of you for your unwavering faith and support throughout all these years as this project would not have been successful without our working together. Please know it was an honor and privilege for the Building Committee to serve our church in this capacity and ask that you remember all those who served our parish but are no longer physically with us but rather with us in spirit to see the completion of our new spiritual home. Additionally, as this year marks the 50th anniversary of the consecration of Saint Gregory Church, we are planning to recognize all donors to this monumental project during the official 50th Anniversary observance on the weekend of September 26-27, 2020. Please come and witness our historic event as this long journey together reaches a joyous conclusion on April 4th! Sincerely, Richard Shahtanian, Chairman- Building Committee |
