Counsels of the Holy Fathers of the Church:
Who can be more considered more shameful than those who do not thinks about their sins yet do not hesitate to judge their fellow human beings in the presence of others. Those who judge the sins of others suffer the pain of their own sins and therefore have to judge others to cover the darkness of their many transgressions. The tongues of those who continuously judge their fellow human beings should be mindful that whatever judgment awaits those whom you judge unjustly will also await you. Why then do you bring upon yourself the pain of your judgment, for what will you gain by your gossip? To which one of your desires do you give satisfaction or what riches have you gained by such sins? Through your gossip and judgment of others did you in fact satisfy your hunger or clothe yourself from your nakedness. Aside from Satan you will find nothing else in the minds of those who gossip or pass judgment on others for their minds are filled with evil.
Our Lord Jesus Christ says: Do not judge lest you will be judged: If you do not forgive others then your Heavenly Father will neither forgive your sins.
