Scripture Readings- Galatians 6:14-18- Gospel-John-3:13-21
Feast of the most Holy Cross

Everyone of us have our Cross to bear in this life and though it seems that in many instances we may feel that we get more than our share of them perhaps it is about time we thought about what Christ endured for us because of our sins, maybe it is time to search the depths of our souls to find the answer to the problems of this life which seem to plague us on a fairly constant basis.
One of the realities that we have to face in life whether we choose to or not is that many of our Crosses are of our own creation, and you do not have to look very far to see that inevitable reality.
Look at the world around you and the answer is quite clear, most if not all of the calamity taking place in the world has been and is caused by humanity itself, nothing evil comes from God only goodness, the pain of humanity comes from itself we really do not have anyone else to blame but ourselves.
St. Paul in his letter to the Romans wrote: There is no one who is righteous, no one who is wise or who worships God. All have turned away from God, they have all done wrong, no one does what is right not even one. Yes these words were written some 2000 years ago to the Church in Rome, but let’s face it not much has changed and it seems that humanity and especially Western Society has become even more secular and worldly. Look at Christ on the Cross and pause for a moment and ask yourself: Am I worth dying for?
