Scripture Readings- Ephesians 5:15-33-Luke 8:49-57

Greed, avarice, war, famine, hunger, disasters and the like, all of things that seem to be controlled by God's Almighty Power and we ask ourselves why? We inevitably ask the question how could a loving and forgiving God allow such things to happen? Yet we do not ever take the time to look in the mirror and ask ourselves the ultimate question or are we afraid of the answer?  Maybe we do not want to face reality!!
We practice nominal Christianity at best, we tend to pray only when we are really in trouble and have nowhere else to turn, yet we seek the answer to that ultimate question; Why is the world in such a turmoil?
The only thing that is needed for evil to succeed is for good people to do nothing, the Psalmist asks the question: Why do the heathen rage?
The heathens, secularists, and the pagans they are all one in the same there is no need to make a distinction because it is impossible to do, their ultimate goal is not separation of Church and State but the total separation of the people from anything which even remotely represents God or Jesus Christ. The Prophet Jeremiah wrote: My people have turned away from Me and are walking in darkness. They are walking backwards. To those who of us who think in our minds that paganism and secularism are not alive and well in our society, I ask that you observe what will transpire this Christmas Season the moment that anyone even remotely mentions Jesus Christ and Christmas in the same sentence. St. Paul wrote that as Christians we need to wake up from our slumber and 2000 years later no truer words could be spoken!
