Sunday March 2, 2008- Fifth Sunday of Great Lent- Unjust Judge
Scripture Readings- Philippians- 3:1-4:9- Gospel-Luke 17:20-18:14
Mother Teresa once said for those who believe in God no explanation is necessary for those who do not believe no explanation is possible. Faith is not something that is visible to the eye, it is rather the hope in the things which are unseen, Christ reminded His followers that those who are my followers will always be in a constant turmoil with the secular and material world. Those who try to secularize faith by attempting to reconcile it with the world will fail miserably, you cannot pick or choose your Christianity to suit yourself or to justify something that is totally against what God meant it to be. Being a faithful Christian and being right with Christ may cause us not to be in the best of graces of those around us, our faith is not something that tells us what we want to hear but rather what really needs to be said whether we may agree with it or not. Look around you and you will see the results of a watered down version of our Christian faith where just about everything and anything has become acceptable, we have done a stellar job of taking God out of our daily lives and now we have reaped what we have sown, we have removed God from just about every aspect of our daily existence and yet we have to ask ourselves the ultimate question why is there such turmoil. Only we can answer that question. As always the choice is yours to make. A Peaceful Sabbath to all.
