Readings- Isaiah 3:1-11, Romans 11:13-24, Matthew 14:13-21
Many ask why should the Church involve itself with matters that would seem to belong to the realm of the society at large and of course if we are speaking of politics then that is a justifiable argument however matters which are not political in nature yet effect our entire civilization are indeed matters with which the Church must absolutely involve itself and would be remiss if it did not indeed speak out against those things which are contrary to our faith but more importantly those things which endanger the morality and well being of our society as a whole. Jesus Christ came into the world not only as God who became man but also to heal those who were most in need of being healed and today now more than at any other time in the history of modern civilization we see and experience an extreme deprivation of not only our morality but also of basic human civility and kindness. Do we take time to think about the fact that these are the very things that caused the decline of worlds most ancient civilizations or are we as St. Paul wrote in a spiritual slumber and need to perhaps wake up and realize what is really going on in the world around us and once again we are faced with the inability to distinguish right from wrong and good from evil. The world is in dire need of being healed. Jesus Christ who came to save sinners is our only hope of forgiveness and redemption. Remember that God does not need the world rather the world needs God and whether we choose to accept that reality is not a decision that anyone but we ourselves can make and remember that Christ did not impose Himself upon anyone however He did say if you choose to follow, you must pick up your Cross and walk with Me and we know the answer to that call. As always the choice is yours to make. A Blessed and Peaceful Sabbath and may Jesus Christ dwell in your hearts!!!!!
