Feast of the Transfiguration of our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ
Meditation on the Transfiguration of Christ:
Whoever, therefore, with a pure, simple heart lifts up their intention to God and empties out of themselves all inordinate love or displeasure over any worldly thing will be the more ready to receive grace and will be the best worthy to have the gift of devotion.
Where our Lord finds the vessel empty and void, there He gives His blessing, and the more perfectly a man can renounce himself, die unto himself, so much the sooner will grace come and enter more plenteously into him and lift his heart higher unto God in pure intercession for all whom he prays. Such a man will be blessed by God, for he seeks Him with all his heart and does not set his mind on earthly vanities.
Prayer: Help us O Lord to be Transfigured by the light of Your love and presence. Teach us that we must not only feel that love and mercy but we must live it in our actions toward others.
Lead us O Lord to that road that You have prepared for us in this our earthly journey and may it lead us to that lighted path which at our journeys end will bring us ever closer to You, the light eternal which can never be extinguished, to that place of ever lasting peace, love, joy, and happiness in eternity with You O Dear Savior.
