In last weeks Gospel our Lord asked the question where is your faith and today I would like to perhaps add the question: How seriously do we take our faith ? It is for most of us a question we do not want to answer or it has become something which has absolutely no relevance to our daily lives. Faith today has become more of  a matter of I can take it or leave it, we have faith when things are going the way we want them to or when we get what we want but otherwise it is something we can use whenever we want especially when things seem to be going not so well.

Look around our own Church on a Sunday morning and you will perhaps ask yourself the exact same question as you see the daunting reality of so many empty pews.

The sad reality of our Sunday worship experience has become a once or perhaps twice year visit to Church either on Christmas, Easter, or perhaps to pray for a departed loved one.

As we look around we need to ask ourselves the same question.

Where is our faith and how seriously do we really take it?
