Feast of the Assumption of the Most Holy Mother of God
Today we celebrate the Feast of the Assumption of Our Most Holy Mother of God the Holy Virgin Mary, on this feast as is the tradition we will have the Blessing of the Grapes which is a reminder to us that all of what we enjoy in this life comes from God. In the ancient Church the Grapes were Blessed because they were the Queen of all fruits and because the Holy Mother of God occupies such a central place in the Armenian Church this Blessing is done on this most Holy Feast on our Church Calendar. The message of today’s feast is rather a simple one and perhaps it is a wake up call so to speak to remind us that we really can do nothing without God in this life, that all of our needs as human beings are blessings and gifts from God and that nothing should be taken for granted and of course above all things we should strive to give our very best back to God in any way that we can while we have the opportunity to do so. Remember it is always better to give than to receive for when you give sincerely and from your heart and soul you will truly get back from God more than you gave.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
